Welcome to the Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity!

Founded at Yale in 1845, Alpha Sigma Phi distinguishes itself as a fraternity “To Better the Man.” In the never ending quest to improve the self, the brothers of Alpha Sig adhere themselves to the highest principles of brotherhood and gentlemanly honor. Our purpose and activity as a brotherhood has enabled us to achieve an elite status not only among the local fraternities, but also on the national stage. With academia, philanthropy and service, brotherly love, and good times in mind we welcome you to explore what a privilege it is to grow as a gentleman in Alpha Sigma Phi.

You can be almost anywhere on campus and find yourself in the company of an Alpha Sig. Our chapter is very well-represented in many of Ohio Wesleyan’s extra-curricular activities, such as (but not limited to) CLEAR, WCSA, Student Justice, OWU Ambassadors, and numerous departmental honor societies. We also have many brothers representing OWU through varsity sports.

Our brotherhood also knows how to relax and have a good time. We host many social and brotherhood events throughout each semester, including such activities as rock climbing at Vertical Adventures, trips to Gameworks Arcade, movie nights at The Strand, football in the snow on The Hill, late-night ultimate Frisbee games, and brotherhood retreats.

Alpha Sig is also involved in many philanthropic events and service activities on and around campus. We strive to not only benefit our national philanthropy, the Livestrong Foundation, but also other philanthropies and activities in the area, most notably Canine Companions for Independence. Some of our projects include our Annual Servant/Date Auction, helping out at the Arts Castle, and cleaning up our adopted stretch of State Route 23, as well as others.

Even though we keep ourselves busy with our involvement in campus activities and service opportunities, we do not forget about the real reason we are all here at OWU—academics. As of Fall 2008, we stand as the fraternity with the highest GPA on campus and have earned that honor numerous times in past semesters.

It is clear that as Alpha Sigs we strive “To Better the Man.” If you are looking for undying friendships, unforgettable life lessons, success among the successful, great times, and most importantly—growth as an individual—then look no further than Alpha Sigma Phi. As fellow classmates and friends, we extend our warmest welcome to you all and look forward to meeting you. Our house is right behind Thomson Hall, so feel free to stop in, visit, and make yourself at home!
